Well, I don't know how it's even possible, but we have a three year old now! You know you hear people say that all the time and it sounds completely ridiculous, but seriously, time with our girl is just flying by. It's definitely a reminder to me to be present, like really present; to pour into her life while we still carry such a big influence in her world. We are so proud of the little gal she is becoming so we obviously wanted to throw a little party to help celebrate her life!
We decided on a camping theme, and let me tell you, I'm so glad we did! We moved recently and haven't been in our new place for very long, so we have a long list of projects that we'd like to tackle at some point (renovation blog posts forthcoming). So, when everything wasn't perfect according to my type-A standards, we'd say, "it's just camping!" and move along. Seriously, if you are looking for a low key birthday party theme that can still be cutesy, the camp theme is a win.
The first few photos are from a short photo shoot we did for her invitation. So cute, so grown up. :) The menu was super simple: roasted hot dogs, little individual chips bags, watermelon, and ants on a log (that stayed in my fridge because I forgot to set them out). And for dessert we did deluxe s'mores. Rilla decided on a strawberry cake for those who didn't want s'mores. We did a nature scavenger hunt that was a big hit with the kids. They each got a goodie bag with binoculars, a flashlight, a bug grabber, and a bug repellent bracelet. All in all, it was a great night with friends and family; and our Rilla girl had a blast!
